Fulfilment of additional learning obligations (OFAs)

Admission to bachelor’s and single cycle degree programmes is subject to assessment of a student's initial preparation (pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004). Students with identified learning gaps are assigned additional learning obligations (i.e. additional activities such as courses and seminars) to be fulfilled.

In order to fulfil their learning obligations, students are required to attend special bridging courses during the first year, and to pass the relevant final exam.

Remedial activities for academic year 2021/2022 include:

  • A TOLC TEST on 7 October, as follows:

Students who have been assigned additional learning requirements (OFA) in the written comprehension area and/or in the Logic/Mathematics area, based on the rules for their degree programme, are required to take a new     TOLC–E@casa     test on 7 October 2021.

Students enrolled in 2021/22 with OFA are invited to practice and improve their initial knowledge and skills ahead of the test.

The Student Registrar will register you for the    TOLC@casa    remedial test. A few days before the test, you will receive an e-mail with information on the test time and how to access.

New students who, following this test, will still have OFA, will have to attend a remedial course organized by the University as specified on their programme website and as instructed by email.

- Students who do not pass the remedial TOLC TEST will have to follow, during the first year, a specific online self-learning course with tutor assistance, which will be available from mid-October 2021, and pass a final assessment test, starting from December 2021.

Attendance of the online course is NOT mandatory except for IPLE students but strongly recommended to take the final assessment test, which is required to fulfil the OFA.

Further information and the link to the course will be available at   https://ofaonline.unimi.it/   in the dedicated Political, Economic and Social Sciences section.

Students who enrolled in the SPO bachelor's degree programmes with insufficient admission test scores (ie lower than the ones provided for by the call for applications) in Verbal Comprehension and / or Logic and Mathematics will be assigned additional learning requirements (OFA).

All the information on the a.a. 2020/21 remedial course will be detailed on this page.

Students who enrolled in the SPO bachelor's degree programmes with insufficient admission test scores (ie lower than the ones provided for by the Call for Application) in Verbal Comprehension and / or Logic and Mathematics will be assigned additional learning obligations (OFAs) to bridge their gaps.

If students do not fulfil their OFAs by September 2020 by passing the exam in their gap area, they will not be able to sit the exams for the following years.

Important notice

Students who enrolled in academic years prior to 2018/2019 and have not yet fulfilled their OFA for general knowledge must contact their respective Degree Programme President to set the exam.
